Martin and John Michael McDonagh are award winning Irish directors, who have created films such as Calvary, Seven Physcopaths and In Bruges.  This poster is for an adaptation of one of their films into a play in the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. 

 

The plot includes a priest, the protagonist, who tries to maintain peace and stability amoungst the small community village in the West of Ireland.  The community pay little respect to the priest, with one of the parishioners even out to kill him.  

 

This poster symbolises the faith that the people in the film have for the church.  They no longer fear the power of the Catholic Church and return try to break its boundries and all that it stands for.
